Kodiak Series Cameras- Frequently Asked Questions

Please note- various product instruction manuals can be downloaded by clicking here.

Q: How are Kodiak Series Cameras different from other wireless trail cameras?

A: Rather than utilizing wireless service providers like AT&T or Verizon to remotely send photos to a user's phone or email, Kodiak Series Cameras generate their own Local Area Network (LAN). This allows a user to access their camera remotely from up to several hundred feet away using our free smartphone app, also eliminating the need for wireless data plans or any kind of cell signal in the area.

Q: Can Kodiak Series Cameras be used in the same way non-wireless trail cameras are?

A: Definitely! Aside from their unique wireless system, Kodiak Series Cameras boast an extremely impressive spec sheet that includes 12 Megapixel still image shooting, 720p HD video recording, and a number of other industry leading features. Additionally, each Kodiak Series camera is equipped with a built-in LCD screen, which allows the user to quickly playback videos and images in the field.

Q: What is the battery life like on Kodiak Series Cameras?

A: Battery life, as with all trail cameras, will very greatly depending upon user settings, the frequency of activity in front of the camera, and a number of other factors, however you'll find that Kodiak Series Cameras' battery life is comparable, if not superior, to most other cameras on the market. Although the unit runs fine on alkaline AA batteries, we recommend Lithium AA's for optimal performance.

Q: What phones are Kodiak Series Cameras' wireless features compatible with?

A: Although the list is growing quickly, Kodiak Series Cameras are currently compatible with the following phones only: iPhone™ 4s and newer, iPad™ 3rd gen and newer, iPod™ touch latest generation, Samsung Galaxy Series, Motorola Droid RAZR, Ultra, Maxx, Mini, Moto X, and Moto G, HTC One and One Max, LG G Series, Optimus Exceed 2, Fuel, L35, L80, L65, L70, L90, L40, G, G Pro, F70, Volt, VU 3.0, Google Nexus 4 and 5, and Sony Xperia Series.

Q: What is the typical range of the camera's wireless features?

A: Although the range can vary depending on a number of factors (terrain, smartphone, obstacles, camera placement, etc.), a maximum range of about 150-200 feet can be achieved, and sometimes even further under ideal conditions. Although the wireless features will work at distances of 150 feet or more, the download speed typically begins to slow beyond this point.

Q: Can photos and videos be deleted from the camera remotely?

A: Yes, our free app allows users to delete media from their camera's SD card remotely from their smartphone. Users have the option to either delete photos individually, or to format the entire card at one time (Requires firmware version or later).
